The Baio River Walk – Monte Castelo Trail is one of the most complete trail in the municipality, with a 14-kilometre trail that follows the course of the Rio Grande from the Baio oak grove to the recreational area of Pedra Vixía. It is a path conditioned by the neighborhood that combines riverside paths, historical heritage and natural landscapes.
Along the way you can contemplate the Dolmen of Pedra Vixía, a thousand-year-old witness of the first communities settled in this land, as well as the imposing Torres do Allo, considered the first pazo in Galicia. The combination of archaeological and architectural elements makes this tour a journey through time.
The path climbs up to Monte Castelo, a natural viewpoint that offers one of the best panoramic views of the region. From there you can observe the breadth of the valleys and the natural wealth of an area that retains its rural essence.
It is an ideal trail for those looking for a varied experience: cultural heritage, history, nature and physical exercise, all in the same accessible trail full of surprises.
