The Towers of Romelle rise majestically on a hill, dominating the landscape as if it were a real castle. Its powerful wall, with merlons reminiscent of medieval defensive architecture, enveloped this palace belonging to the Caamaño family, one of the most influential lineages in the region. The ensemble conveys the strength and power of the Galician noble houses, which combined the lordly function with the defense of the territory.
Inside, Romelle surprises with its well-kept gardens with Baroque geometries, ornamental fountains and spaces designed for enjoyment and rest. Access to the palace is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful experiences for the visitor: a tree-lined path that leads directly to a singular cross with a triangular base, an authentic sculptural jewel that marks the entrance to the enclosure.
The palace is located just 3 kilometers from the municipal center of Zas. To get there, you have to take the road that leads to the place of Santo Adrián de Castro. Once there, you have to turn slightly right in the direction of Berbia, and after about a kilometer, the pazo appears on the left, imposing itself on the rural environment with its stately fortress print.
